Mykel has over 12 years of specialized service in the United States Marine Corps and is a sought-after advisor in a number of fields. His specialties include: leadership consulting; executive leadership; international civil-military coordination; disaster response; international law enforcement advising; recruiting and development; logistical management; and physical security.
As a leadership consultant, Mykel has designed and instructed leadership seminars for small business owners; Division I collegiate sport programs; and state and local governments. He is currently editing his first manuscript, an autobiography focused on self-help leadership.
Mykel has led disaster response teams in Southeast Asia and the United States as a police advisor and logistician. During Operation Tomodachi (earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear disaster response in 2011) and the Hurricane Florence response in 2018, he was a designated liaison for interagency civil-military coordination for security and evacuation control.
Mykel holds a Leadership and Executive Coaching Certification from the University of Louisville.
