Major John “Crush” Gerlach is a U.S. Air Force Weapons officer and Olmsted Scholar with over 12 years of experience commanding air mobility missions around the world. He has deployed multiple times in support of operations in Afghanistan and Iraq. He was recently an instructor at the U.S. Air Force Weapons School.
John received his B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Syracuse University and later his Master’s in International Relations. He currently lives in France with his wife and two children where he is pursuing graduate studies in International Security and Defense at the University of Lyon 3, Jean Moulin School of Law. He speaks fluent French and is proficient in Japanese.
